Women can get alopecia just like men, its just spread out across the entire scalp type of hair thinning, unlike males, who have the `male pattern baldness`.
Good news is for women they can give you estrogen supplements and stop the loss if you go to the doctor- men can`t take the estrogen without serious side-effects that are worse than baldness.
Go to a doctor for exam- if it is alopecia, they can usually fix it for women if you take action now.
My ex-Girlfriend had the same problem and she was a really pretty girl- its just genetic and kicks in at a certain point like it does with men if you are predisposed.
It's probably a lack of certain nutrients in your body that's causing the problem - most cases of hair loss are because of this.
There are many different treatments that are meant to ';cure'; your condition by providing your body with the nutrients it needs.
';Provillus'; is one of the market leaders. You can see a report about it here: http://www.regrowreport.com/provillus-re
When I was in 6th grade the same thing you're describing was happening to me. My mom said it happens to everyone because everyone's hair regenerates after some period of time. I'm not sure where she got this but hey 6 years later my hair is thicker and fuller than it was before.
I suggest getting on a healthy diet because malnutrition can do this. Also have your thyroids checked. and take test to see if you are ill. It may be a gene that you have picked up.
Good luck, Jennifer
Its normal to lose about 100 hairs a day.....If it starts to get worse and chunks start falling I would go to a doctor.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO CHECK YOUR THYROID.
Are you eating a well-balanced diet? Could be from lack of nutrients..
