Hi, I am 47 years old and I always had thick hair, and suddenly I am losing my hair?

Wow, I'm pretty sure chemo causes you to lose your hair NOT cancer itself. In which case she would have already been diagnosed and would know why she's losing her hair. Anyways for the question it's normal as long as your not having any kind of symptoms. Make sure to eat as much protein as you can which will help with hair loss, and you can try one of those shampoos they have them for women too.Hi, I am 47 years old and I always had thick hair, and suddenly I am losing my hair?
If you have ANY of the following symptoms: weight gain or weight loss, exhaustion, stiff muscles and joints, go to the doctor and get your blood tested, especially a thyroid test. If you don't have any other symptoms, it's probably just 'catching up' with you and you're losing hair due to male pattern baldness, but if it is a 'sudden loss' there is USUALLY a medical reason, and the 'hair loss' is simply an early symptom ... but going to the doctor and having your blood tested is the ONLY way to tell for sure!Hi, I am 47 years old and I always had thick hair, and suddenly I am losing my hair?
This is not normal. I am very shocked. The sign of loss of hair at such a young age is very strange. Actually old people don't loose thier hair except men. You probably have cancer. I know this because I am a DR. I have been in the medical field since 1989. I would go see a doctor right away. May God Bless you,

Age can have an effect on hair but another thing could be if you are taking any kinds of medications. Good Luck! :)
