HELP !! I think i'm losing my hair!!?

Alright guys, so i used to have nice thick hair but now its kinda thinner. Also, now i can see my scalp sometimes when my air sticks up, well i don't know is this is different or not because i just noticed this and never actually looked at my hair before that closely.

Over the summer i used to use the shampoos Pantene and Selsun blue daily use. I used pantene most of the days and selsun blue only when i couldn't find the pantene. Also, i shampooed everyday twice because my hair is very oily and if i don't shampoo i feel oily the whole day and my hair is an oily mess and i played a lot of basketball and i sweat like a dog!

Now i switched over to Heads and Shoulders and i still use it everyday. And, i do have a slight dandruff problem its not like the flakes come out flying but like if i go through my hair there is some. Its almost not a problem but if i don't use those anti dandruff shampoos i do get it back like in a month probably.

I eat pretty health and thats no problem and i never used gel, hairspray, or mousse my entire life.

I'm only 16 !! plz help guys! is it the shampoo or am i balding!? well my dad is bald but he lost his hair in his late 30.

btw i'm a guyHELP !! I think i'm losing my hair!!?
The best advice is for you to consult with your family physician; he'll make referrals if warranted.

It is unusual to lose hair at the age of 16.

Really, all the answers you'll get here are subjective.

Your doctor's answer is the objective one.

Hope you'll find out what's causing it so it will be completely alleviated.HELP !! I think i'm losing my hair!!?
DONT USE PANTENE! AND NEVER USE CONDITIONER IN YOUR SCALP! any shampoo that has alcohol in it is bad for your scalp, what it does is loosens the hair follicles and sets the hair free, so when you brush it, it ends up there. use dove, im STILL experiencing hair loss but dove helps! eat proteins too!

well i'm guessing ur hair is kinda long..... is it? well, don' t towel dry ur hair then...because then it pulls out some of ur hair...let it air dry or use a blow dryer...ooohh, i hope ur problem is fixed sooon!
You are not suppose to wash err hair everyday! Like maybe every week or so thats why you are going to go bald.
r u washing ur hair everyday?if so, wash it every other day n take muti vitamin...
I could not even read your whole question but i suggest anything but a wig or toupee.
Get rogane or go to Vitamin World and they have hair vitamins there that work real well, just ask them.
check the ingredients of your shampoo it it contains ANY type of sulfate DO NOT USE IT.iT WILL THIN AND DAMAGE YOUR HAIR.
stOp washin yur hair sO much.
i have the same problem but im 35...i just went with the thought that i looked better bald. try it.
Web MD will provide good and professional answers, but really see your doctor.. He'll have the best advice.
wear a wig
u can be my grandpaps twin!
okay well if your stresses, this is mainly the cause. so try and relax, take it easyy. if this isnt working i think you may need to see a doctor. it may have something to do with ur dads baldness. ask him when he started to loose his hair. if it want this young then maybe u should see sum1 about it. try not to wash ur hair so much if its oily then rub talcon powder in it and that dries up the oil.

so RELAX and maybe see a doctor...
When your hair's up, it's normal to see your scalp. (I see that ALL the time when I look at my brothers!)

As for the thinning hair, the possible causes are:

-Certain Hair Supplies you use

-Any one of the activities you perform

I don't think eating has anything to do with your hair.

The shampoos should work fine.

If you were out in the blazing sun all Summer, the sun's harmful rays may be a part of the problem, or THE problem itself.

Oil in your hair is normal, but TOO much oil isn't. I forgot what the cause is and what to do, but I believe oily hair happens sometime during or after puberty.

Sorry this wasn't too helpful, but I don't know a whole lot about hair. (Though I SHOULD, considering my very long hair.)

Ask you dad when he started balding. I could be genetic. 16 is pretty young, but it occasionally happens. When I was in high-school I had a friend who was balding and from what he saw with his dad and older brothers he knew it was inevitable. So he shaved his head to beat mother nature to the act of naturally balding. (in his way he felt as if he was giving mother nature the finger, not giving her the satisfaction of doing it to him.)
