I'm 14 years old and losing my hair. Is there any vitamins I can take to stop this?

My hair comes out in the shower, on my back and arms, and all over my house. My mom suggests I take vitamins before seeing some sort of doctor, but we both don't know which ones to take that will stop this. Please help!I'm 14 years old and losing my hair. Is there any vitamins I can take to stop this?
Hair loss at your age is very uncommon and is usually a symptom of something else. One possible cause is anemia, which is a decrease in red blood cells or hemoglobin. An iron deficiency or vitamin B-12 deficiency can cause anemia. Also, people with hypo or hyper thyroid ism experience hair loss. This is when the body has an insufficent amount or an excessive amount of thyroid hormone produced. Do you have any other noticeable symptoms or health conditions?

You should see a doctor and take a blood test. Only then will you be able to know exactly what vitamin, mineral, hormone, etc. your body may be lacking in. I suggest you go as soon as you can since you don't want to lose all your hair!I'm 14 years old and losing my hair. Is there any vitamins I can take to stop this?
I remember going through the same thing at your age. However I also know then after I had each baby and went through the normal hair loss that goes with postpardum I was told my by stylist to use Nioxin.

Use the cleanser just like regular shampoo and then use the scalp therapy as your condition. Leave it on while you shave or something like that and then rinse it out. I noticed a huge difference just after 2 showers.

Lots of hair places sell it and I think I have seen it at the JC Penney's hair salon as well. It is worth every penny.
If I were you,I'd make a Dr.appt. and have your thyroid checked out.they do this by a simple blood test in the Dr.'s office. One of the symptoms is thinning hair and hair loss.It is normal for us to lose about 100-150 hairs off our head a day,but since you seem to be losing hair all over I would at least have this test performed to eliminate the possibilty of having thyroid problems.I suggest that you go www.webmd.com and type thyroid problems in the search bar and see if you have any more symptons of this.I know because I have a hyper thyroid and am on daily medication for the rest of my life. They do make vitamins that are speciffically made to help with hair,it may be a good idea for you to also take a good muli vitamin, maybe something in your diet is lacking, hope this helps you out.
sounds like alopecia to me see your doctor but i don't think there is much he can do .stress can bring it on and i can disappear as quick as it arrives see your doc to be sure
I'd see a doctor ASAP. Vitamins won't help hair loss.
