I bought this curling iron that you add water to and it does seem to get hot on the scalp.. but I have been using it for about three weeks and about a week or so ago I noticed a lot of hair loss..just thinner and shorter, much shorter hair.. no other problems and this is the only thing I have done different ..they said it was better for your hair but I wonder if it is hard on the scalp?? has anyone else had this problem?Seems like I am losing my hair and the only thing I can trace it to might be a curling iron I bought?
Once you start using irons of any sort you start a whole mess of problems. First be sure your using a protection spray.
I suggest Redken's spray starch. www.redkenonline.com has the best prices on the Internet.
Once you start frying your hair you should be aware that it won't ever look good till you do it again. Be sure you hairstylist has talked with you about the products and changes your going to go threw.
Sometimes you may need a better shampoo and cond. because your changing the hair texture and be sure to know the heat settings. Depending on the thickness of your hair it can only take so much.
And yes you can lose hair with heat styling products even a blow dryer not use correctly will damage or break your hair.Seems like I am losing my hair and the only thing I can trace it to might be a curling iron I bought?
Maybe, you can also starting loosing your hair if you don't have enough fat in your diet, really, eating only fat free stuff, or mostly, makes your hair fall out, it could be lots of diatary reasons, or stress too, but maybe quit using that curling iron and see what happens unless another reason fits.
I never even heard of that kind of curling iron so I don't even kbow waht to tell you. The product sounds cool.
could just be stress from the time of year
I would say you are right, It could bethe iron and the type of hair you have, if you are using this iron everyday it could cause damage also make sure your hair is clean. clear of mouse and hair spray. make sure you are using a good deep hair conditoner and if you continue to use this iron make sure the heat setting is not too high. Also if you are in cold weather you may not want to wash your hair so often the combination of washing too often and curling will defenatly cause hair breakage and thining. hope this helps.
I've never used this type of curling iron but if it is supposed to be better for your hair maybe you could try a different conditioner?
good luck
Its probably the curling iron. It is getting too hot and burning your hair out. Stop using it. If you have the receipt take it back and get your money back.
