I've been losing large sums of hair every time I get out of the shower; I can literally run my hands through my hair after washing it, and several hairs come right off.
It's been like this for about a year, and although I can't see any signs of hairloss when my hair is dry (probably because I have poofy hair), when my hair is wet, I can see that it looks as if it is becomming progressively thinner.
No one in my family is bald (other than my Grandpa, but he was in his 80 before he died). My mom and dad have all of their hair, and they're in their 50s, though my mom's hair appears thinner. I had some questions for anyone educated on the subject:
1. I used to only wash my hair once a week, because I was scared of losing it. I also heard certain shampoos cause hair loss; is this true?(I use Gariea Fruitse) Could not washing my hair be a factor?
2. I brush my hair several times a day because it is somewhat uncontrollable...
3. I don't eat regularly, and am stressed a lot..I'm losing my hair, but I don't think it's hereditary...help!?
There's only two drugs clinically tested and FDA approved : Minoxidil (Rogaine and other brands) and Propecia (Proscar, Finasteride, etc.), there are some interesting drugs too like Dutasteride or Follica but there aren't enough studies yet.
If you're into natural stuff, the only one that might be helpful is Saw Palmeto (there are capsules for sale in natural shops) because it contains anti androgens similar to the ones found on Propecia.
Quite frankly all the other stuff are either placebos or scams.I'm losing my hair, but I don't think it's hereditary...help!?
u have to wash your hair at least twice a week and dont brush it alot because the brushing will thin the hair and use if you can one kind of shampoo it is good for your habit of your hair and the main point of your losing your hair is depressing your self. dont depress for ever else u will lose your hair
you age can be a factor if you are over 50, some shampo cause hair loss, what you eat also cause hair loss, you need agood diet. you may have to go to your dr to find outthe right cause inorder to get the right treatment.

good luck
yes certain shampoos cause hair loss (it happened to me), so does stress (also happened to me and i have thick hair?) you could have a vitamin deficiency, it could also be alopecia.
i bet its a vitamin deficiency. i take vitamins for hair nails but im not sure if those are for men im pretty sure you can take them. go to the store and check. it will have your hair coming in thick in no time :) no worries
1. you have to wash your hair atleast twice a day with strengthening shampoo. there are also some special products against hair loss that work pretty well.
2. the more you brush it, the more it gets greasy, the more you have to wash. too MUCH washing is definately not good for your hair.
3. you have to eat a healthy diet, containing alll the essential vitamis and minerals, fibre, protein, fats and sugars. as inbetween snacks grab the fruit instead of the chocolate bar.
hope this helped.
good luck with your hair
