Last year I shaved my head because my hair was completely damaged--it was falling out, and there was no sign of new growth whatsoever. I decided to start from scratch. I'm African American and my hair is naturally curly, not the worse, and not the best grade of hair, but it's manageable. The only problem is that I wash my hair every other day and I lose in my opinion more hair than I should be losing. Even after I wash and comb my hair, there are small pieces of hair that I find on my hands just from touching my head. Anyone know the possible reason and best solution to this problem? And what are the best moisturizers for my hair?Still losing my hair...why?
I use aphogee as my shampoo and conditioner..they also have a treatment you apply every six months that makes your hair strong and stimulates growth...you can buy it at any beauty supply and it runs from $8 bucks for a sample like bottle and $17 for a regular size bottle..I shampoo and condition my hair about 4 times a week and oil it every night..but not with hair grease..I use profective hair cream...I also clip my ends every week...I use to get hands full of hair after AI wash it but refused to cut it..i just started treating it..your hair will shed but now my husband and kids can play in my hair without it coming out by the hand fulls...Good Luck...o and no chemicals...I use a flat iron..Ive never had a perm..but I use to dye my hair a different color every week..now I stick to black...lolStill losing my hair...why?
Are you moisturizing your hair enough? If it feels rough and pops off in your fingers when you touch it it means your hair is too dry. I use Nexxus Humectress to moisturize my ends and then seal the moist in with an oil (either olive oil or jojaba). You should also be deep conditioning your hair once a week (I use ORS replenishing pak. Make my hair feel like SILK when i rinse it out!)
Don't worry.
Everyone loses at least 100 strands of hair each day.
It is scientifically proven.
If your hair really is falling off, i wouldn't suggest conditioners, because it would actually make it worse.
Consult an expert and buy professional products.
mazani i think makes good moisturizers for african american hair! and you might think that you loose a lot of hair but really everyone looses a ton of hair. it can be caused by stress or your diet if its a sufficient amount. unless you are seeing bald patches i wouldnt be worried!
