Im only 20 yrs old & im losing my hair!!!! WHY?

oh my god im so depressed...im losing my hair %26amp; its freaking me out big time...what can i do to improve this condition!...the part on your head that you put on the pillow while sleeping on your back is thinning up...%26amp; i don't know WHY?...please help me... :(Im only 20 yrs old %26amp; im losing my hair!!!! WHY?
Around when I was 19 or 20 I started losing my hair because I was stressed and depressed. It got so short I couldn't even put it in a ponytail.

I stopped relaxing it, using heat with it, and I stopped combing it only brushing it for awhile.

You need to destress if you're stressed out.

However if it's only the part that touched the pillow that happens to everyone. Babies often have very noticable lopsided hair because they sleep a certain way. Sleep a different way. Try a new pillow.Im only 20 yrs old %26amp; im losing my hair!!!! WHY?
I'm glad I could help :)

You could be stressed out!

winter time generally means your hair starts to thin too so take that into consideration.

Also switch to a satin pillow case it will allow your hair to ';glide'; over it it's not so harsh on the hair as a cotton pillow case.

Don't worry I'm sure it is normal unless you start to just pull clumps out.
Maybe you are stressed and that is causing the hair loss.

Perhaps you are moving your head rapidly across your pillow whilst you are sleeping.

Maybe you are having a reaction to a toxic intake or poisoning of some kind.

Maybe the hair products or treatments you have been using have made your hair brittle or is making it fall out. (Chelseia sounds like a saleperson for hair care products, ';it won't happen overnight, but it will happen)

There are many reasons why hair falls out. You should speak to a doctor as it may be a sympton of something a little more serious. But becareful how you tell your doctor of your problem in case he gives you one of the following answers.

Patient: ';Doctor, my hair keeps falling out, can you give me something to keep it in?';

Doctor: '; Why yes, here's a bedpan, you can keep it in that.';

Patient: ';Doctor, I'm worried, my hair is thinning.';

Doctor: ';So, who wants fat hair?';

I hope I have helped in some small way.
i think its becasue your hair is weak. maybe you died ur hair too much. it can happen.
If its bad (like lumps of hair) then it probably is stress, so you shouldn't worry - it can be fixed. You need to visit a doctor. Finding out why your stressed will probably reduce the hair loss.

If it is really serious it could be alapeacha (I can't spell it), Gail Porter has it. But this is very unlikely. See a doctor to be on the safe side though.

Another reason it might be falling out could be due to over dying your hair. But you would need to do this a lot.

If your concerned about any shampoo or products you might be using switch to a baby shampoo - it won't aggrevate the problem while other shampoos might.

I hope it grows back.
godd thats scary....

maybe you could stop using heat sources for your hair or if you are using pantene pro v , switch. because it is prooven that if makes your ahir fall out. it just covers the hair with wax wich temp. makes it shiny then makes it fall out. i hope this helppped.

Gd. luck !
are you under a lot of stress lately? that's one big reason that people often lose their hair. it could also be changes in your diet, genetics, or something like that. don't stress. try taking pre-natal vitamins, i've heard they're really good for your hair.
Stress, heredity, nutrition, alopeica...it could be a number of things.

However, keep in mind that we all have about 100,000 hair folicles and we all lose around 100 hairs per day. This is normal. We shed 100 or so hairs per day in order for our hair to regenerate itself and grow new hair.

So, the hair you are seeing on your pillow, could simply be the normal process of our hair growth %26amp; loss. It doesn't mean you are losing your hair.

If you are worried, you could see a dermatologist. However, there are some things you can do at home, like get into a hair care regimen to stimulate a healthy scalp and hair growth.

Nioxin is a professional salon brand of shampoos, conditioners, scalp treatments and supplements made to stimulate growth. Visit their website to find a salon near you that sells Nioxin. If you get into a regimen, you have to do it daily in order to see results in 3 - 4 months. It's not over night and you have to remain committed to a routine, daily.

In addition, there are specfic foods %26amp; vitamins that encourage hair growth. Here's a link to a list of foods %26amp; vitamins.

Are you having any other symptoms? If so, you might want to go to the doctor. There are some autoimmune disorders that make you lose hair, such as Lupus.

It's probably hormones or stress though.

Pay attention to your body and if you're feeling really tired or worn out. Go to the doctor and ensure that it's not something more serious.
DO CHECK with your MD dear...there may be a medical issue at hand.....anxiety in the meantime will not help....it could be hormones,,,,,it could be diet, it could be dandruff, it could be psorasis, and you might have parasites. To rule out all that does not apply get thee to a doktor on good time....you will not regret a professional appraisal....don't buy a wig yet, it is unwarrented. Just seek the appropriate medical assistence....and keep yourself on a wholesome diet..plenty of fruit, and fiber, and dunt forget brussell sprouts!
