I had my second child in january and began to lose my hair in big chunks. My doc says that some pregnant women lose hair. It's been almost 7 months and am continuing to lose hair by the fistfuls. Any ideas what could be wrong??Losing my hair!!! Help!?
Are you eating properly? Usually diet has a lot to do with hair loss.
1. Increase protein in your diet. Have boiled eggs in the morning, atleast 2 glasses of milk everyday and try to have as much fish as possible.
2. Stop stressing about hair. My hair used to fall like crazy and the more i thought about it, the more they fell. So just believe they'll become ok which they def will.
3. switch to a really really mild medicated shampoo. They're expensive but they really help.
4. If you're anemic (like me), then you might need to have more iron and zinc in your diet. This has def helped my hair.
5. You could even visit a dermatologist. Mine said that it was a diet problem but he prescribed tablets called ';hair skin and nails by 21st century';. 2 of those a day helped me too. But please get it checked first from a doctor before you buy anything. They give proper medication.
6. Start oiling your hair. If you can get coconut oil or almond oil. They're very good for hair.
I hope i helped. More than anything else, fix your diet if its not nutritious enough. That was the major reason for my hair loss and eating properly did wonders. :)Losing my hair!!! Help!?
I agree with the person below.Until you check things with your doctor, here are some tips:
1)a healthy diet (lots of protiends like eggs nd milk)
2)wash frequently to prevent follicules from clogging( which means a very good SULFATE FREE SHAMPOO (organic) )-some shampoos are specifically made for preventing/reducing hair loss + follicle treatment (check out alterna hair products)
3) take vitamin supliments on a daily basis
4) get a good hair brush or wide tooth comb
5) lessen heat and styling and use protective products if you do
6) every weekend, use eggwhite, a sp.of honey, and olive oil as a masque (jojoba oil is very good too!!)
7) trim split ends so they wont continue going up and slowing the growing process and make ur hair ugly
8)excercise for gd circulation!
thts pretty much all i can think of atm, but those are the basics and trust me once u start doing them they'll become a normal part of ur routine and ur hair will reflect the results:)
hope this helped

when your pregnant your hair get thicker and fuller. after you have your baby the levels of hormones go down so you start to loose your hair. if you originally had thin hair or if it got super thick it will continue coming out until it is back to what it normally was.
