Losing my hair while breastfeeding..?

should i take suppelments while nursing, and if so, can i take them on the same time each day?

TIALosing my hair while breastfeeding..?
You should still be taking your prenatal vitamins.Losing my hair while breastfeeding..?
as a hair stylist i tell all of my new moms or moms to be to stay on prena. vi. at least four mths r longer most drs. will let them stay on the whole time they r breast feeding it makes a huge difference but what u r going through is normal
you losing hair would have nothing to do with nurseing and id see a dr asap about that. as far as taking soemthing. your suppose to continue taking your prenatal vitamins when nurseing, ask teh dr before taking anything else
Your hair tends to get longer and thicker during pregnancy and will thin after birth but you should stay on your vitamins since the baby is taking a lot of nutrients while you breastfeed! And don't worry it comes back.
My husband is getting upset at finding my hair everywhere he looks in the house, and I swear I clean up as much as I can! My cleaning cant keep up with my hair loss though, LOL. I do think that is normal, and not related to breastfeeding.

You know, I'm irritated I was never given vitamins when I was pregnant. I even asked for some, but all I got was calcium pills. The Dr said it was unnecessary, I just needed to eat healthy. I do hope I wont go bald because of this!!
I really feel for you. I have a 6 month old and my hair is just now starting to grow back.

It is not from breastfeeding. It is caused by your hormones and hair stages returning to normal.

Relax, I promise that it will grow back, but not after much loss. I had bald spots!

Keep taking your prenatal vitimans. You should take those as long as you are nursing. The same time everyday is a good idea so you will get in the habit and remember to take them.

Good luck and I promise, it will pass!
Its not the nursing that is causing you to lose your hair. It's a result of the pregnancy. Don't worry, it all grows back. It happened to me with all four of my pregnancy's.
more than likely it is not breastfeeding that is causing you to lose your hair. when women are pregnant their body naturally ';holds on'; to your hair and you barely shed any hair. then after you have the baby your body ';lets go'; and you lose a lot of hair. after i had my baby i swore i was going to go bald with all the hair i was losing. the doctor told me that it was normal and that it would stop and it did about 5-6 months later. taking vitamins may or may not help, you are going to lose hair after having a baby regardless. but if you want to take some vitamins, the best thing to do is to consult your doctor about it.
It happens often after the baby comes. Relax it will come back it is all hormonal.
You aren't really losing your hair. While you were pregnant, your hormones kept you from shedding the hair you normally would have, but now that those hormones are gone, you're shedding all that extra hair at one time instead of every day like normal. But you aren't going to thin or go bald or anything like that. Just take you vitamins and you'll be fine. Eat proteins -- foods that have the B12 sulfer complex are good for you hair, skin and nails -- if you're really worried about it.
Humans actually lose about 100 hairs a day but when you are pregnant you don't lose hair. After you give birth and your hormones are leveling off, that's when you start losing the hair including the hair you did not lose in pregnancy. Mine came out in clumps, I thought I was going to go bald, but I didn't.

As for the vitamins, it is a good idea to keep taking them if you are nursing. You could take them at the same time each day if it's convenient. The point is to keep taking them.
It's not a bad idea to go ahead and continue taking your PNV while you breastfeed.

The hair loss may be due to the hormal shifts post-partum. Many moms go through this.
