II am only 17 and I seem to be losing my hair It keeps falling a lot when i shower or brush it. Am i going bald?
i used to have the same exact problem (losing abnormal amounts of hair in shower/when brushing). the cause is that you are not eating enough. lack of nutrition and unnecessary weightloss=losing hair. also, straightening/curling with iron, chemicals, coloring or any other product definitely promotes hair loss. you will not become bald unless you continue to do whatever you are doing wrong.I am only 17 and I seem to be losing my hair It keeps falling a lot when i shower or brush it. Humans loose 100-200 hairs a day, but this never causes hair to appear thin. Take a good look at a lot of hairs that are falling. If there is a white bulb on the end of them this is the root, meaning that the hair has fallen out of the follicle. If a huge number of the hairs have these bulbs then the hair is falling out. Hair doesn't fall out for no reason. Hair loss is simply a symptom if something biological. This means that if you notice thinning you need to see a doctor right away. If there are not white bulbs on most of the hairs then your hair is breaking off from damage. This is common with young people.
We shed them just like other mammals. When shedding occurs the hair's bulb is detached from the follicle and falls out. But often the weight and pressure from the surrounding hairs actually keep the shed hairs in place until you pull on them. This is why people notice the most hair loss in the shower, when the pressure is removed and those hairs are allowed to fall. You do not have a problem unless you start seeing actual bald spots.
I've had large amounts of hair falling out since I was about 16, and people always said I would go bald, but I'm 42 now and people are always remarking on what a thick head of hair I have. It still falls out a lot, but I guess it just replaces itself very quickly.
you may have alipesia, may be from stress, or it runs in ur family. u r not going bald. unless u have one of these things.
no most likely not, it might be because your maltreating your hair, try a different shampoo and stop damaging the roots
premature baldness
it's absolutely normal to be loosing your hair. humans lose an average of 100 strands a day... i think you'll be fine :)
