Why am I losing my hair?

Im a 34 year old woman and I have been losing my hair over the last 3 months. Im not on any meds, besides birth control pills. I can see losing hair as I get older gradually, but within 3 months at 34 years old? Any suggestions? Why am I losing my hair?
The first answer pretty well summed it up.. it could be one of several things.. hormone changes in your body, stress of course, the shampoo/ hair products you are using (i know a couple people who experienced this from using pantene)..

Were you sick for a good period of time within the last 3 months? because sometimes it only catches up with your body a couple of months later.. and i am assuming you aren't pregnant of course because this also influences hair loss..

The best doctor to see for this is a dermatologist, however you have to find a good one or they will just chalk it up to stress and prescribe you a shampoo.. basically no help at all unless you find one who will take you seriously (many of them tend to blow off hair loss related problems..)

good luck!!Why am I losing my hair?
THAT birth control may be the problem.
The first thing I would ask you is how much protein you re taking in? Protein is very important to hair growth.
Hi,

Several reason to loose your hair:

1. Stress: When you think and worry too much or have a lot in your mind that can cause hair loss.

2. Hormones changes

3. Cheap Shampoo: Try using Nexxus or Matrix
