How can I tell if I'm losing my hair? =[?

I'm an 18 year old guy with long hair (past the shoulders) and I feel like I may be losing my hair.





I love having long hair, so any advice will help...





It looks to me like mostly the right side of my hairline is thinner than the left side, and I notice it too much. Also my scalp seems to be a bit thinner...
